was grabbed from behind and pulled into the woods. montgomery county police say the 21-year-old was walking along the sidewalk about 3:30 a.m. on sunday just south of the road when she was approached from behind by a man, dragged into the nearby woods and sexually assaulted. the woman was socializing with friends in the area and was attacked while going to the convenience store to meet another friend. the victim flagged down police and was taken to the hospital after sustaining minor injuries after trying to fend off her attacker. police are telling residents to be cautious while walking in this area after dark. investigators believe that the victim did not know her attacker. >> we should not be able to do what everyone. >> at this point, authorities do

not have a good description of the suspect. there are working with the victim to try to get a detailed description so that we can get it out to the public. >> we are on storm watch tonight. heavy rains are soaking the region and causing flooding. doug hill is live with our first forecast. >> more rain is coming back and the heavy rain for the moment is about 20 mi. west of the city. let's check out the watch area. this entire area of shaded in green is under a flash flood watch through tomorrow morning. it shows like to moderate rain west of the metro area. this is near west virginia. we can see this clearly on our storms can.

all of this rain is moving in a letter to not talk-later tonight. -- later tonight. >> we are following a developing story out of hagerstown. a toddler is fighting for his life and two teenagers are under arrest after the boy found a gun and shot himself. the toddler found a handgun under a bed in an apartment in hagerstown. he is in critical condition at children's hospital. police have arrested his brother, a 16-year-old and his 17-year-old girlfriend and they are being charged as adults. the girl attempted to hide the gun after the shooting. the gun had been reported stolen. >> president obama has not minced words about the d.c. public school system. the president appeared on the

today show this morning and a mother asked if he thought that d.c. schools to do a better job than the private school that his daughter's attend. >> the answer is no. the d.c. public school systems are struggling. they have made some important strides over the last several years to move and the direction of reform. >> the president's children attend a private school. some teachers and parents agree with the president's assessment that d.c. public schools are headed in the right direction. >> about 100 protesters were arrested near the white house today. they want the obama administration to stop coal mining. the environmental protection agency has tried to rein in mountaintop mining. a presidential panel investigating the bp oil spill

howard county, but it has been west of the metro area. we may repeat this all on thursday. rain intting too much two short of a period of time. let's start with a look at doppler radar. this is to the west of metro -- the metro area. the storm scan shows that the next area of heavy rain is just down the coast. all of this heavy rain will reach north carolina and go down the coast. all of this is being pushed by this storm center that is pulling the moisture northward. there could be flooding in spots. that is why the entire region remains under a flash flood watch until tomorrow morning. the computer guys suggest that a tropical low pressure area may

come up the same route and bring more heavy rain. let's go to the weatherbug. we picked up 1.36 in. of rain so far. only a half-inch of rain elsewhere. 78 and 64 is the high and low today. we have more rain headed our way tonight. there is the storm watch. temperatures are just about what you expect this time of year. the hot stuff this kind of restrictive. -- is kind of restrictive. here in the east, much cooler. by this weekend, we will get the
